With two locations - Los Angeles and New York - the Leading Edge network provides a nationwide, carrier-class, IP-based voice solution. Each peering colocation boasts redundant public internet connectivity. This, along with a private network backbone between the two sites, provides optimal network availability and performance, ensuring dependable service for our customers.

Next Generation Switching/Routing Technology

Leading Edge deployed the Sonus NBS5200 Network Border Switch as the Simplified Solution for voice services. Featuring the latest generation in processor technology, integrated media transcoding and superior CPU and allocated memory utilization even under adverse conditions, the NBS5200 allows Leading Edge to provide consistent, reliable voice service to its customers. The small-profile device and scalable call processing allow for seamless growth while keeping network costs low – advantages that will allow Leading Edge to continue to provide reliable, cost-effective service and grow the network without affecting customer quality.

Advanced Routing Featuring Sonus PSX and Orca Wave BlueWater

The Sonus PSX Centralized Route Server is a proven solution for call routing and policy management, offering sophisticated routing analysis and superior scalability. Orca Wave’s BlueWater software provides an integrated least-cost-routing engine and billing platform, as well as a reporting and alarming solution that allows for sophisticated area-specific temporary routing. By combining the Sonus PSX with Orca Wave’s BlueWater software, Leading Edge has the ability to simultaneously implement cost-based and quality-based routing. This assures Leading Edge’s customers are given the high quality they require at the lowest possible cost.

Reliable Data Services Featuring Cisco Nexus 7000 series

Leading Edge’s data network is powered by redundant Cisco Nexus 7000 series switches. Built on a zero-service-loss hardware and software architecture, the Cisco Nexus 7000 series offers the high availability needed for a next generation service provider. Cisco’s NX-OS software, the operating system that runs the Nexus 7000, is a data center-class operating system. The Nexus 7000 series was designed to allow for infrastructure scalability and transport flexibility, allowing Leading Edge to plan for future growth and added services.

Our network is IP-ready and capable of effectively moving any type of traffic across any network element while maintaining routing, jurisdiction and critical call information intact all the way to the call destination.

Traffic Monitoring

We provide our customers with secure web-based tools from our partner Orca Wave for real-time traffic monitoring, forecasting analysis and trending reports.
